Film Industry Social Network
SetReel was a free casting network for the Pittsburgh, PA area I launched in 2013 and retired in 2018. It served thousands of actors and filmmakers and was even utilized by large organizations like American Eagle (Pittsburgh HQ) and the University of Pittsburgh. It featured a user friendly casting call directory, customizable acting portfolios, and a built-in messaging system to help keep actors safe from scams. At its peak popularity, SetReel had upwards of 5,000 daily active users and 100,000 page views per month. Because of my success with SetReel, I was invited to be a guest speaker at Pittsburgh Filmmakers' Library Conversation Series.
Setreel went through multiple redesigns rebrandings during its lifetime - originally introduced as "The Casting Pitt" - and served as a tangible learning experience while I taught myself web design and development. Below are links to archived captures, as well as screenshots from its final days. I ultimately shut down Setreel mostly due to lack of time and resources (no longer living in Pittsburgh didn't help either).
