Originally The Casting Pitt
, I launched SetReel
as a free casting network for the Pittsburgh, PA area in Fall of 2013. It served thousands of actors and filmmakers and was utilized by local organizations like American Eagle and the University of Pittsburgh. In 2014, I partnered with Pittsburgh Filmmakers / Pittsburgh Center for the Arts as an official sponsor of the site. At its peak popularity, SetReel had upwards of 5,000 daily active users and 100,000 page views per month. Because of my success with SetReel, I was invited to be a guest speaker at Pittsburgh Filmmakers' Library Conversation Series where I shared insights on auditioning actors. SetReel eventually expanded to the rest of the United States and later the world, but returned to its Pittsburgh roots due to a lack in resources required to maintain such ambitious growth. On May 9th, 2018, after almost 5 years of service and thousands of roles cast, I shut down SetReel.
